Become a HirePaths Ambassador!

HirePaths is recruiting four teachers from across Kansas to become HirePaths Ambassadors for the 2022-2023 school year. This position comes with a $2,000 stipend, plus reimbursement for in-state conference travel expenses (up to $500). The stipend will be paid upon completion of all requirements, half in January and half in August 2023.

We hope to recruit one educator to represent each of four grade levels:

  • Early Childhood (Pre-K through Grade 2)
  • Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5)
  • Middle School (Grades 6-8)
  • High School

Our goal is to inspire more educators to incorporate career exploration into their classrooms. Getting HirePaths in front of kids at an earlier age will help our state produce more high school graduates who have a strong knowledge base to make good career decisions.

Applications due August 15, 2022.

What’s Required of Ambassadors?

Ambassadors will look for ways to incorporate HirePaths materials and activities into their classroom all year and document the results! In exchange for the $2,000 stipend, we require ambassadors to do the following:

  • Use HirePaths resources in your classroom, then post photos, videos and commentary on social media throughout the year, tagging HirePaths. Minimum of 9 posts required, one per month, September 2022 – May 2023.
  • Write three lesson plans involving career exploration and/or using HirePaths materials for the grade level you represent. These will be shared on our website for other teachers to use in the future. Due no later than July 30, 2023.
  • Write a blog or record a video at the end of the year about your experiences using HirePaths in your classroom; if this intimidates you, our team is glad to help! Blog or video due no later than July 30, 2023.
  • Speak on a panel about HirePaths at a conference in the summer of 2023. In-state travel costs covered, up to $500.
  • Provide informal feedback and ideas to the HirePaths team to make our program stronger. Throughout the year.

How Will Ambassadors Be Selected?

We’re looking for ambassadors to represent different areas of the state and who teach different grade levels and subjects. Other qualities we are looking for in an ambassador are active use of social media, creativity and willingness to try new things in the classroom. We may conduct Zoom interviews to help us select our ambassadors. We'll notify all applicants of submission results by August 19, 2022.
