How Parents and Guardians Can Use Xello

We hope you’ve heard of Xello, the online learning tool used in more than 250 school districts across Kansas. (Whether you’re just learning about Xello or already have an account, you’re in the right place!)
Xello is an interactive platform enabling K-12 students to discover their strengths, reflect on their skills, explore different career pathways and begin planning for their futures. Older students can also track their graduation progress, create a plan for their secondary education and learn how to best achieve their goals.
As your child’s biggest cheerleader, it’s important for you to be involved in their planning! Xello has a variety of tools for parents to use at home — from viewing your kid’s assessment results and discussing the future to following along to track their progress.
Xello Family
Every parent has probably heard the saying, “It takes a village” — and it rings true. The more you’re able to connect with your child’s teachers, the better. Xello Family facilitates that connection in an easy-to-use, accessible place.
Xello’s capabilities and resources change as your child goes from one grade to the next, meeting them where they are in their development. If you’ve never used Xello, ask your child’s teacher about creating an account to provide access to your child’s profile.

Xello Advisement Notes
Xello recently rolled out Advisement Notes, a place where you can hear directly from your child’s teachers and counselors. After an educator meets with your child, they can add an Advisement Note to the student’s profile and give you access to see what they’ve shared. This is a great place for open dialogue, where you can reply directly to the educator and have a conversation about your child and their progress.
