How is Aerospace and Aviation Expected to Change in the Future?

  • eVTOL – Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing, innovative commercial market segment that Spirit is targeting as part of our future work packages.
  • Vision Systems – Sensors and the use of non-destructive inspection (NDI) automation tools drive efficiency into our inspection roles and allows for fewer products having to be scrapped or re-worked.
  • Additive Manufacturing – is a transformative approach to industrial production that enables the creation of lighter, stronger parts and systems
  • Environmental Impact – Spirit’s Wichita site is quickly approaching carbon neutrality in part to our partnership with the Sedgwick County government and Evergy (electric utility) on utilizing a windfarm to power our Wichita location.
  • Robotics – Robotics and automation are essential to Spirit maintaining our market share, by allowing Spirit to win new work packages on more advanced aerostructures technology.  This new technology is used as a supplement to the people we’ve relied on for decades of Spirit’s success.
  • Hypersonics – high temperature materials used for advanced missile and spacecraft is a key growth area for Spirit.
